Tip about Packaging

Hello,
An enormous quantity of packaging ends up in landfills and or environment everyday. This goes on to have direct effects on plants and animals. Unfortunately, a lot of this packaging is not recyclable due to the fact it is cheaper to produce that way. However, there is a way to reduce the amount of packaging we use.
Here are some suggestions:
- Buy products that are packaged with recyclable materials
- Buy in bulk. This is often cheaper per 100g and usually has less packaging per 100g as well
Thanks

Bottled water VS. tap water

Hello,
This tip is about bottled water. People buy and throw away huge amounts of plastic bottles per year. A large portion of this is made up of water bottles. However, this is not necessary. If people would either, 1. refill those used plastic bottles, or 2. use their own water bottles, there would not be as many plastic bottles being thrown away each year. This could make the world a much greener place.

Reuse Things - save & make money

Hello,
You know what they say; one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. This is true, and you can help the environment and make money at the same time by using this ideology. Whether you are getting rid of something or in need of something. You can still save/make money by reusing items that are not needed anymore. You can do this by using sites like “ebay” or “freecycle” that allow people to trade or sell things that they do not want anymore.

Try it!

-{NEW TIP}-

Hello,
There are many different things that you can do in order to be more eco-friendly and also save you a bit of money. The most basic of tips is to turn off things that are not in use. You have probably heard this many times before however you may not know what kinds of things you can turn off or unplug. Here are a few and their benefits.

Turn off the following things when not in use:
Lights – Obvious, and most people already do this but if you don’t, it is a good habit to get into.
TV and “box” – Depending on you TV setup there is a box that is used to compute the TV signal and add extras like a recording option. When turning the TV off you can also turn the box off and save electricity and money. If you are recording your favorite TV show it will automatically do it even when it is on standby.
Computer – After you finish using your computer turn it off before you go to bed so that computing power is not wasted on nothing. As well as, saving money and electricity, it will also clear your RAM so that your computer will run faster in the morning.
Kitchen appliances – You can unplug your coffee machine, toaster, blender, and most other kitchen appliances when not in use to prevent the standby from wasting energy.
